KCAP has been announced as the master planner for the development of ZIL-South, the largest brownfield area in Moscow, the ZIL car factory's former site. The old automobile plant's location, a well-connected area in the south of the center of Moscow along the Moscow river, is undergoing a transformation from a former industrial site towards a new and lively environment. While the northern part of the area is already being redesigned, the masterplan for the southern part needs to be developed.

The masterplan for ZIL-South will be generated with a participatory process, thanks to the support of Generation ZIL, the media platform and urban planning laboratory launched this month by developer Etalon Group, Moscow, and moderated by City Makers. The initiative will involve the expert community and Moscow residents to actively improve and transform the ZIL area, defining a new and happy future for the site.
