‘Travelling’ Letter of Intent signed for European cooperation on Climate Adaptive Cities

KCAP as a co-partner of the cooperation of Dutch and Polish cities, companies, knowledge institutes and NGOs , signed the Letter of Intent on European cooperation on climate adaptation in cities. The cooperation focusses on integrating climate adaptive measures in the urban development to speed up climate adaptation of European cities.

Katowice, where the world currently meets for the COP24 Climate Summit, was the landing spot for the traveling Letter of Intent. This was the starting point of the Dutch and Polish cities, companies, knowledge institutes and NGO’s to share, learn and increase their knowledge and experience. 

The initiative builds on the results of the Amsterdam International Water Week (AIWW) 2017 where international partnerships on climate adaptation have been established. Besides Breda, Wroclaw and Zwolle, urban planning and design offices KuiperCompagnons and KCAP, knowledge institute DELTARES, engineering consultancy ARCADIS and Polish water utility MPWiK and NGO Sendzimir are involved in the cooperation. De cooperation is facilitated and supported by the Netherlands Water Partnership (NWP).
