The site of Fischbeker Reethen in Hamburg's district Harburg is being developed into a residential and business location with the aim of transforming it into a ‘Garden City of the 21st Century’. Within this reinterpretation of the Garden City, the 70 hectare area at the edge of the metropolitan city of Hamburg will accommodate a total of 2.200 apartments, 100.000 m2 for small production industries and almost 200.000 m2 highly diverse landscape spaces.
