The "premium" development focus Ausserholligen is being transformed into a vibrant and attractive sub-centre and mobility hub in Bern West. With the help of different building heights and sizes as well as a fine-meshed network of neighbourhood connections and passages, it establishes urban integration with the surrounding neighbourhoods. A great diversity of public spaces and their variety of uses as well as their overlapping create an urban diversity, density and intensity adjacent to Europaplatz and the Weyerli outdoor swimming pool. In the future, the new nearby campus of the Bern University of Applied Sciences will also attract many young people to the neighbourhood.
