Construction completed of Inntel Hotels Den Haag Marina Beach

There is a new place-to-be for seaside lovers at Scheveningen where to enjoy the atmosphere of the famous Dutch beach destination: the 4-star Inntel Hotels Den Haag Marina Beach designed by KCAP.

The triangular-shaped volume located at the tip of the pier looks different from each vantage point, becoming a real landmark at the seaside. The architectural design is a homage to the beach and the sea: From afar, the glass facade with the diagonal stripes creates the dynamics of a sail, but at a closer look, it also represents the ripples in the water or those of a sandy beach after the water retreats. The reflections of the sky, the sun, and the clouds on the facade underline the new hotel's relation with its context. By night, the building transforms with the beacon of its illuminated skypool into a welcoming lighthouse.

The architectural language chosen refers to the masterplan developed by KCAP for the 8,8 ha. area in the south of Scheveningen. It combines improvements to the existing fishing industry with a mixed program for recreation and consists in two parts: the fishing harbour with fish processing companies and the seaside boulevard with a program for leisure and tourism that includes the new hotel building. The delivery of the hotel completes also the first phase of the area development Noordelijk Havenhoofd Scheveningen.

The hotel of approximately 11,000 m2 has a program spread over 12 floors. It comprises 226 rooms, a restaurant, a bar and wellness area. The spa facilities and a skypool are located on the 12th floor, offering unique coastal views to the hotel guests. With the interior designed in reference to its seaside location, the Inntel Hotels Den Haag Marina Beach will open its doors to guests in spring 2021.

The project is a development of VolkerWessels Vastgoed in cooperation with the municipality of The Hague and is part of the redevelopment of the Noordelijk Havenhoofd in Scheveningen. The construction was carried out by Boele & van Eesteren while the installations were realised by HOMIJ Technische Installaties.
