On 21 November 2023, Ute Schneider, a partner at KCAP, will be a featured keynote speaker at the '2023 Human Smart Cities' conference, taking place in Warsaw, Poland. The Polish government's initiative to improve the quality of its medium-sized cities, named 'Human Smart Cities' (HSC), aimed to create livable urban spaces through intelligent solutions and active resident participation, especially those facing socioeconomic challenges. The competition consisted of two stages, where applicants developed project concepts and received support to address specific urban issues using smart solutions. 24 cities received grants and implemented various innovative projects, ranging from environmental monitoring systems to sustainable mobility initiatives, with a strong emphasis on engaging residents in decision-making processes. The conference summarises the results of the 'Human Smart Cities' competition and includes keynote lectures by experts in the field of urbanism, one of whom is Schneider.
