On 17 October, the city council of Leiden approved the urban development plan and the ‘image quality plan’ for the Humanities Campus, both designed by KCAP. As such, green light is given for the further development of the Faculty of Humanities by the University of Leiden together with the municipality. In the plans, the spatial framework, the architectural requirements and the desired level of quality of the new inner-city campus area have been defined.
KCAP's urban concept provides for a future-proof framework for the redevelopment of the campus area and aims to improve the qualities of the buildings and their relationship with each other. The central element is a new green space that creates more coherence between the various buildings and institutions, provides more space for encounters and improves the infrastructure on the campus.
Next to our role as urban designer is KCAP supervisor of the buildings for the University of Leiden and the municipality.
