First building of Business Hub cluster in St. Petersburg completed

The new Business Hub, a multifunctional ensemble consisting of three volumes and a patio, completed its first building. The project designed by KCAP and schiemann weyers architects, together with technical advisors IMd Raadgevende Ingenieurs and Techniplan and commissioned by PerviyBasis, is located in the periphery of St. Petersburg at the edge of an industrial area next to a residential neighbourhood. The aim is to create new opportunities for commercial spaces and thereby enliven the district.

The concept of the modular and multifunctional cluster is designed for flexibility. Not only does it allow for a variety of programs, also future changes can be accommodated through adding extra floors and installations. The first building is permanent and made of concrete. It will be completed by two buildings constructed in steel, demountable and, as such, serving as a prototype for future locations. Through the homogeneous use of material, the volumes are unified as one coherent ensemble.

The first building was realised in ‚record time‘, only eight months after the design start. We are looking forward to the construction of the other two volumes and the completion of the entire project.
