Die Musketiere, project for the station area Erlenbach, Switzerland

Erlenbach is a municipality on the right shore of the Zurich Lake in Switzerland. The municipality, together with SBB Real Estate want to upgrade the station area, with the central challenge of im-plementing urban density and creating a public space with a high quality of stay while maintaining the village like character of Erlenbach.

Out of seven contributions’, KCAP, together with Chaves Biedermann landscape architects, won the 2nd prize with the project ‘The Musketeers’. The project is conceived out of 3 sculptural urban villages, hence the project's name, that maximize the individual lake views from the apartments while creating an attractive sequence of public and semi- private outdoor spaces on the ground floor. The station square, spatially framed by a new roof over the station entrance, forms a spatial hinge in the village like Bahnhofstrasse.

The project will be developed on the base of the winning project - the 1st prize went to “ANNA + OTTO“ by Ernst Niklaus Fausch Partner AG und Vetsch Partner AG - in the next planning step. We wish them all the best with this endeavour!

The project exhibition is open to interested parties from 19 to 27 May 2021 from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the Erlibacherhof in Erlenbach.
