Green Gustav Rooftop shows itself

The roof landscape on top of our building the Gustav on the Zuid-as of Amsterdam is beginning to take shape. This will soon be a meeting place for the studio residents in the building who, if they stay under the 1.20 m high wall, can easily shake off the noise of the city. This autumn, grasses, heather plants and trees will be planted. The idea of an elevated landscape on the roof originated from the idea of moving the eaves to the central area, so that an undulating landscape could be created around it. Under the planting, the facility installations will be concealed. The Gustav will also have a garden room on the ground floor (below), which will subtly become part of the public space around the building.
