Successfull kick-off of redevelopment Cruquiuseiland Amsterdam

The kick-off of the redevelopment of the Chubb-location Amsterdam took place yesterday, Wednesday, April 6th. Around 50 to 60 local residents and stakeholders came together during a public meeting. The visitors were able to express their views and opions on the urban design, architectural style, use of communal areas and the design of public space. A live artist translated the wishes and ideas on the spot into beautiful sketches. The collected input will be processed in the next version of the plan for Cruquius. According to schedule, the definitive design will be completed by the end of this year.

The planned program for Cruquius consists of approximately 300 units for owner-occupied and rental housing combined with work and commercial spaces. The set of rules (‘spelregelkaart) developed by the municipality of Amsterdam forms the basis for the design and program.
