Today opening of renovation Motorwal and Ketelmakerij in Amsterdam Noord

Today the renovated housing ensemble Motorwal and Ketelmakerij in Amsterdam Noord will be officially opened. KCAP is responsible for the renovation of the buildings built in 1987 by OMA. Kees Christiaanse was back then responsible project architect within OMA.

The excecution of the sustainable maintenance has started in the spring of 2012. The changes concern the façades with new windows and plaster work, renovation of the storage spaces and balconies, new isolation and ventilation. Also the entrance hall has been adjusted to provide for better orientation. The measures have been mutually defined in a dialogue of Ymere with the inhabitants, the contractor and KCAP as architect and result in a better living quality for the inhabitants.
