Since 2011, KCAP accompanies the urban development of the Aeschbachquartier Aarau for Mobimo Management AG. The former industrial area Torfeld Süd, one of the crucial brownfield sites in the canton of Aargau, is now a lively new urban district based on the master plan designed by KCAP. Our vision of an "urban village" was implemented in 2016 by three different architectural firms: Schneider & Schneider Architekten, Gmür Geschwentner Architekten, and us. Today, the quarter comprises 167 rental flats and 92 condominiums, the Aeschbachhalle, the Oehlerpark, and commercial space.

In 2020, Mobimo AG invited five renowned architectural firms to participate in a study commission for the last remaining northern part of the site, lot 3, and asked Anouk Kuitenbrouwer, partner at KCAP, to chair the jury. The winning project by Baumberger & Stegmeier Architekten in collaboration with Hoffmann Müller Landschaftsarchitekten and Pirmin Jung Schweiz AG complements the garden city envisaged by KCAP with a permeable and green residential typology with 110 new flats, a new square, and many green spaces with big trees.

The Aeschbachquartier Aarau is also the first Swiss neighbourhood to be awarded the DGNB Gold certificate.
