The residential complex in Amsterdam’s Eenhoorn area will accommodate 179 rental apartments and 3.000 m2 of office space. The design comprises of two u-shaped blocks with green courtyards in their center. The four top parts of the buildings overlook the water and create magnificent views from within the apartments. In 2009 four international architects with Fürst Developments were awarded with the first prize for their proposals for the 50.000 m2 transformation of the former trade fair location into a vibrant new city quarter. Within this framework KCAP is responsible for three sculpturally shaped urban villas with stepped roof terraces, Ortner & Ortner Baukunst for the masterplan, Forum K and Kreativquartier, Baumschlager Eberle for three urban villas, David Chipperfield Architects for a tower house and daycare and Barkow Leibinger for the showroom and design accommodation SCENARIO.
